Friday's Ramble

A positive day all round.
Still need to find a conclusion for the book, not easy.
It has a mind of it's own at the moment.

Thursday Ramble

Whoops, missed a couple of days.
Hit the 3000+ words in the first book.
Had a break for the last two days, but still studying the art reading books.
Reading The Truth by Peter James, got hooked on his Dead series but this book is nothing to do with crime and I can't put it down.
Great stuff.

Monday Ramble

On call this morning, then down to the bank then take T to work. Spent a nice evening at The Magic Circle listening to a children's lecture. Brave man did well.

Sunday Ramblings

Sunny morning going to church then feet up and watch the F1. Friends round in the evening, had fun playing the wii, what an invention. No-one has beaten me at table tennis yet but got thrashed on everything else. Sunday over to bed.

Saturday Ramble

Went for a walk today with the wife and did a spot of Geocaching, one of my many hobbies. Found three!
Walked the whole length of the local lakes, isn't it weird most fishermen are now hidden in tents and it's difficult to get a conversation out of them. Still made some notes which might come in handy later to include in the story.

Friday's Ramble

Asked a few questions on Writers Talkback about character creation today.
Everyone is very helpful on the site I'm learning a lot.
Have a nice weekend everyone.

Afternoon,

Well, I've now completed the first 1000 words in my first book project.
It's a great feeling.
How did you feel when you had your first 1000 words?

Reflections

My first attempt at the 10 Line exercise at Write Anything.

1) describe the weather
2) describe a sound
3) describe an object
4) update the weather
5) describe a piece of clothing/ accessory
6) update the sound
7) using the object, write something about the mood of the scene
8 ) describe an action or movement using the article of clothing or accessory
9) describe a physical trait of one of the characters
10) end with a single line of dialogue

The weather is cloudy but warm no sign of the sun, the loud buzzing of a machine like the sound of metal being scrapped over concrete. He looked at the clock on the computer desk, it reflected his surroundings in the chrome face, she will be here soon.

The sun was breaking through, the day outside is warming up, time for a short sleeve shirt to be put on he liked the red checked one. The concrete had softened and the noise was now very distant, the reflection of him tapping on the computer keyboard was only accompanied by a tick tock of the clock now.
She will be here soon.

A breeze blows through the room as the door opens causing his shirt to ripple like the surface of the water being disturbed by a small pebble.
He was shy to the point of being timid and finished his journal entry getting the up the courage to turn around.  She was nearby.

He turned to see her she was reading over his shoulder she thanked him for the words and they left the building together at last.

Tuesdays Ramble

Bit of a dull day today, got a small amount done yesterday but not as much as I liked. I'm now thinking about using a software package to write. Does any one have any opinions or is it just a case of what ever you feel happier with?

Monday Ramble

Had good time at Festival yesterday and took some photos of interesting people. Hope to put aside some time later today to put some detail to the pictures. I love using images to get the imagination flowing.

Memories and Waves

My first attempt

Memories And Waves

Arriving at the shore the waves crashing onto the golden beach, drowning out the screech of the black-headed gulls, gliding effortlessly through the bright blue sky.

They’re on the look out for that thrown away morsel of food or the tourist with the Kiss Me Quick hat to dive bomb and take a piece of the ice cream. They don’t need a shopping list, or cash, it’s free. What a carefree life.

Memories.

The smell of candy floss and compressed air from the fun fair, reminding me of times when I wasn’t frightened to have a go on any ride. But now I’ll just stick to the Hook A Duck pond, everyone’s a winner!

Shell Fish for sale, a tub of cockles’, maybe prawns, what choices.

What Memories

The gift shop with the table lamp lighthouse and the spoon with the badge of the seaside resort stuck to the handle, some people collect them, sad.

But, what memories.

Night draws in the colourful illuminations fire up, Bingo Signs I had not noticed before beckon you in to play, full card or any line! You choose your prize.

Time for bed.

Oh what memories
